Fran Mackintosh
Award Winning Pet Photographer!
Today I am very excited to announce my recent Bronze award for my portrait of Charm! This girl has come on such a long way in the short time we've been looking after her, and this award means a lot this week particularly as I've been shuttling her to and from the vets for some dental work. One of the vets even commented that she was pretty enough for her own modelling contract! Obviously I agree 😍. She's the least easy of all the cats to get in front of my lens but when I do it pays off.

This photograph was entered into the Guild of Photographers Image of the Month (IOM) Competition. Every month thousands of photographers submit thousands of images to get judged and awarded Classified (good professional level photograph), Bronze (Images of a strong standard at a national competition level and something to be proud of), Silver (Images that are very well crafted, difficult to achieve) or Gold (Images of particular distinction - very rare).
I usually enter two categories, Pets and Natural World. I am extra proud this month as I also acheived a Bronze in the Natural World category for this little shield bug!

During my time with the guild I have achieved a Bronze award on two other occasions, one is my portrait of Frankie and the other is this image of an eagle. The image of Frankie won exactly 1 year ago today!
